The parameters for the project that prompted my hoof shoes were to create some form of wearable sculpture using found objects. In order to recreate the appearance of digitigrade limbs, I cut the heel off of a pair of platform stilettos and removed the metals studs that dotted the back. I then molded the form of cloven hooves out of Monster Clay, which I used to create a silicone mold. I suspended the deconstructed heels into the mold as I poured resin in to make the final form of the hooves. After final cosmetic details, the hoof shoes were complete.
